Threaddog collars are made to be

comfortable,

easy on delicate and long coats,

performance ring legal and

down right spiffy.

Originally made for my own papillons, we specialize in collars for toy breeds, but have since made collars & martingales for my collie, other people's colllies, border collies, big poodles, labs, cairns, cavaliers and many many cats.

They are sewn with seams on the outside of the collar and in only the softest fabrics in order not to irritate delicate necks or break fine coats.

I am fussy about the design of the fabrics I use and I craft each and every collar. You won't find our collars anywhere else. Special needs or sizes gladly accomodated! Just ask!

(pictures coming soon!)

All our collars are adjustable and available with

@ snap buckles, or

@ breakaway buckles, or as

@ martingales with or without chain.

We recommend breakaway buckles for cats and for dogs who wear a collar ONLY for identification (they are not for use with a leash, although in a pinch I can make them that way with 2 "D"rings for attaching a leash.)

WITH CHAIN

Martingales are recommended in place of a choke collar or for breeds whose skulls are narrow (collies and sighthounds primarily). Also called "limited chokes," they should only be used with a leash or when your dog is with you. (If they should catch on something they can tighten and your dog could get stuck, with unhappy consequences.)

I am happy to craft your threaddog collar using a "belt buckle" collar tag from boomerang tags if you need a permanent tag. (Because I make the collar I can slide the tag on before the buckle.) Boomerang makes a tag that will slide on or off any collar which you can order from their website. (These are great for performance dogs whose tags need removing before they enter the ring.) I HIGHLY recommend them!

**

I am currently working on a prototype for a gear bag for shlepping all those snacks, bait, baggies, brushes, extra leads, water bottles and dishes, toys, not to mention the cool NEW things you are bound to pick up for your dog to and from dog shows, the park, a visit to Gramma's. Again, my fussy fussy obsession with bags means it will not be just a nylon sport duffle or a polyester tool bag, but a bag with panache as well as utility...and as such may take me several decades to design....
